the retreat

The inspiration for this villa was drawn from its dramatic landscape.
The plot is set barely at the top of the hill in Dani, giving panoramic views to the north coast of the island, a location where usually 'episcope' buildings are built.
The focus of the building's design is the visual access to the coastal outline of Syros. This is achieved by using two main axes, one north and one southeast that provide an amazing view, dominant in each room.

a stone wall & a tree

The concept for this house was to design a new building around an old stone wall and a tree, ‘found’ on the plot. With magnificent, unobstructed views to Finikas bay, the house sits calmly on the land echoing chromatically the serene Cycladic landscape. The stone wall ‘pierces’ through the building's volume and divides private and shared spaces, providing a dramatic backdrop internally and externally.

Saint Mamas

Under construction, Boutique hotel. The main design concept for this new hotel
is a 'stone terrace that wraps around white volumes', inspired by both the landscape and the peculiar volcanic palette  of Kimolos and the  local Cycladic architecture of the island.

a new me

A reconstruction and modernization of a conservation building (dating back to 1910) in Athens city centre. The design strategy was defined by the need to preserve the original architectural features of the facade of the building, the size, the typical decoration of the openings (entrance, windows, and balconies) and the colours wherever applied.

Cycladic minimalism

Inspiration was drawn from Cycladic architecture and each room was approached as a unique design challenge.
Each individual room becomes a small ‘cosmos’ where traditional built furniture, wall recesses and ivory screed finishes juxtapose with the serenity of the frosted glass surfaces.

the view

Tasteful interior fit out of an apartment shell with stunning views of the ancient Parthenon. The unique characteristic element of the original apartment, is that its large openings give a wide stunning visual access towards the south part of the Acropolis hill and the Parthenon, but also to Hemetos mountain and Salamina .
